Dr. Yogesh Bakhai is the Clinical Director of Psychiatry at ECMC, where he also serves as President of the Medical Staff. Since 2003, he has been the Chief of Service for Psychiatry at Kaleida Health. He is also on staff at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. A full-time associate professor of psychiatry at the University at Buffalo, Dr. Bakhai has been a member of the faculty there for nearly 20 years. Through his teaching and research, he continues to make profound contributions to the field of psychiatry, directly influencing the quality of medical care in our region. He has earned numerous awards for his mentoring expertise, and his research interests cover a variety of critical topics, including suicide and the delivery of psychiatric services. Dr. Bakhai is a distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association as well as a member of the American College of Psychiatrists. He earned his medical degree in psychiatry from the University of Mumbai (formerly known as the University of Bombay) in India.
