Michael E. Cain, M.D.

Dr. Michael Cain is Dean of the School of Medicine and Biosciences at the University at Buffalo. A cardiologist who specializes in cardiac electrophysiology, Cain is also a seasoned medical administrator, educator and scholar. Dating back to 1984, his cardiac research has been funded consistently by the National Institutes of Health. Before assuming his role at UB in 2006, Cain served as Director of the Cardiovascular Division and Tobias and Hortense Lewin Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his training in internal medicine at Barnes Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. Cain graduated cum laude from Gettysburg College and earned his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
