Dr. David Dunn, Vice President for Health Sciences at the University at Buffalo, oversees the strategic integration of teaching, research, service and clinical activities of five health sciences schools within the UB Academic Health Center. He is also professor of surgery, microbiology and immunology. Before coming to Buffalo, Dunn was the Jay Phillips Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He has championed healthcare policy reform within New York State and the region, and remains active in numerous academic societies. An accomplished surgeon, scientist and administrator, he has published more than 400 scientific articles and book chapters on surgical infectious diseases and transplantation. Dunn received his bachelor of science and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of Michigan and a doctorate in microbiology from the University of Minnesota.
