Robert Gioia is one of the area's most prominent business executives, having served as Food Group Principal of Strategic Investments and Holdings, Inc. from 1992 to 2007. He is also a true leader who has given back to his native Buffalo in countless ways. Whether mediating a county fiscal crisis or helping a venerable foundation distribute $15 million to worthwhile charities, he leads with vision and precision. In addition to chairing the Great Lakes Health System Board, Gioia is President of the John R. Oishei Foundation, Western New York's largest private philanthropic foundation. He has served on the boards of numerous other groups and organizations, including the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo, Martin House Restoration Corporation, Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Nichols School, and played an instrumental role in the Erie County Stabilization Project.
