James R. Kaskie
President and
Chief Executive Officer
Known for his strategic planning and vision, James Kaskie brings a wealth of top-level administrative experience to his leadership role for Great Lakes Health System. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2007. Before relocating to Buffalo, the St. Louis native held executive management positions with several healthcare organizations, including Incarnate Word Health System and Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI). As the Senior Vice President of Operations for CHI, he managed 40 hospitals in five states. In 2004, Kaskie was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaleida Health, and in 2006, he was selected to be the health provider's third CEO. Under his leadership, Kaleida Health strengthened its financial resources while increasing overall patient satisfaction. Kaskie earned a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in health administration from St. Louis University. He also holds a master's in business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
